Nothing like some easy coast cold to make a man out of you.
Just when I thought 42 degrees was balmy in steps a trip to New York, Pennsylvania and weather in the teens. Yikes. Can you believe we were looking forward to wind chills and snow? I wasn't but seeing my mom, some old friends and people who have helped shaped Karen and I. We arrived in Nueva and were swiftly escorted to our evenings cultural event. Immediately I understand what I love about NY. On Christmas you can reinvent your traditions and go see Alvin Ailey perform instead of the usual holiday paper shred. We did however have ourselves a nice papers tear the night before. Scored some sick antlers (aka a new DIY project), some books that have been desired for a very long time, and some other cool awesomeness. On the east coast however there were parties to attend people to see and stories to be exchanged. We spent the entire 10 days re-exploring favorite foods, getting sick, drinking too much Brooklyn Brewery and subsequently getting sick again. All in all very fun times. I miss my old hood and all those who some how brave the most inhumane temperatures ever, while still calling SF cold. I miss New York but not as much as I miss San Francisco and its moderate temperature when I'm suffering in January. It was a pleasure to come back to our home and our lovely dog and dog sitter. Even an indoor accident of of diarrhea and a sick vomiting dog couldn't keep us from decorating and enjoying the space we are creating. Even though poor Angus kept us in the house we were able to complete some projects that had been hanging around too long. Its sweet to be back here and will be even better when I get my life size P-rail..Oh yeah suckas!
